KRISTI TETHONG

Kristi Tethong is a Canadian filmmaker from Toronto whose work explores the power of storytelling and storykeeping. Working with intimate access and over extended periods of time, her films honour the lives and histories of people whose stories might otherwise be forgotten.

Her documentary work includes Don't Pass Me By, My Mother's Life, Becoming, Into the Woods and The Visit, which received awards and screened at international festivals. She has also produced several History and Science series for Nat Geo TV while living in the UK. She holds two Fine Arts degrees and is completing her MFA in Film at York University. Far From Home is her first feature documentary.

LOSEL TETHONG

Born in the Tibetan refugee settlement of Mundgod in South India, Losel Tethong brings a deeply personal connection to Far From Home. As the film's narrator and co-writer, he draws on his experience as a member of the Tibetan diaspora and his own return journey to his father's homeland, connecting his family's story to the larger history and ongoing struggle of Tibet.

Losel is a Toronto-based entrepreneur and environmental strategist.
